Lori Campbell

Licensed Clinical Social Worker #21255

My areas of specialty include childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, and childhood behavioral problems.  My areas of expertise also include divorce, co-parenting, re-marriage, blended families, and child adjustment to divorce and re-marriage.  I am trained in psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapy models as well as complex trauma treatment.  I use a variety of techniques to help children and adolescents feel comfortable and have an empathy-based approach to parenting.

I am a University of Southern California (USC) trained therapist and have been practicing child and family therapy in Los Angeles since 2000.  My professional experience also includes being a child custody evaluator for the Los Angeles Superior Court, where I worked for family court judges on divorce and custody cases.   I am currently an adjunct professor at USC and am working towards my PhD, which helps keep my knowledge in the field up to date.

Helping families heal and find peace, even during stressful times such as divorce or child custody evaluations, is the driving force for what I do.  Life challenges, disappointments, and past hurts can stop all of us.  Being able to learn from them is what helps us move forward.

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist #90985

In a world full of critics, I believe we each deserve to have someone in our lives who will listen, motivate, encourage, and challenge without judgement. As a marriage and family therapist, I truly enjoy the unique opportunity to provide this type of support to others. I find that typical sessions may include a combination of tears, laughter, insight, and collaborating to discover techniques and solutions to ease the stress that has led you to seek support. I like to provide differentiated therapy based on each individual's needs. I utilize a variety of techniques pulled from therapies that have been shown to be effective in managing symptoms of depression and anxiety including cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative, and solution-focused therapy. Additionally, I am certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, which focuses on building attachment/relationship enhancement and increasing compliance through play. I am also nationally certified in Trauma Focused-CBT, which is a highly effective treatment for children who have experienced trauma. I enjoy working with individuals of all ages, along with families, couples, and groups.

"Trauma is not what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness" Peter A. Levine- My mission for my therapeutic practice is to create a space for clients to better understand the nature of their reactions to trauma whether it be a life threatening event or simply a series of difficult events, and to heal from those using techniques and modalities such as Somatic Experiencing and EMDR.

Stress, low energy, anxiety, depression, troubled relationship with food, difficulty with intimacy, lack of motivation, stomach issues, body pain, headaches, and anger issues are invitations for us to take a closer look at the underlying events that have an impact on the body's response.  I have had success working with adults and children to move through old experiences and create new patterns not rooted in the wounds of the past.  I especially enjoy working with women who are looking to find their own voice in relationships and learn what it is to experience greater self love and acceptance through a gradual process.  My style of work is a very collaborative approach where we work together to identify goals of therapy and the right pace of attaining those goals.  I also utilize invitational language and choice for the client to ensure they feel a sense of safety and an empowered stance during their therapy sessions and overall goals. I enjoy working with people of diverse backgrounds and provide therapy in both English and Spanish languages.

Bryan Sawlsville

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist #44505

I offer nearly 20 years' experience in Behavioral Health services providing direct care across many settings & populations including residential, outpatient, Adult, & Families. My depth of experience allows me to bring a perspective to services that first and foremost support client care and advocacy against stigma. The style of practice I use is highly determined by my client's needs. I see people as being expert in themselves and want to honor their experiences in life to help guide treatment. I have success working with addiction, substance use, anxiety, depression, anger management, parenting, and crisis intervention.

Regardless of the therapy style used, I make every effort to integrate mindfulness, transparency and systems perspective into all the work I do. I have found that including these ideas in treatment helps clients foster a greater sense of self efficacy and competence with whatever concerns or problems they come to work on.

I am a Pepperdine University trained therapist and also an adjunct professor at the Pepperdine University West Los Angeles Campus. I am EMDR and American Society for Addiction Medicine (ASAM) trained. I have weekday evening and Saturday/Sunday availability in the Manhattan Beach and Santa Monica Offices.

Clinical Art Therapist

Supervised by Beth Rosenblatt, LMFT-ATR #47857

As an Art Therapist, I enjoy helping those with depression, anxiety, faith crisis, LGBTQ issues, life transitions, and parenting and maternity issues. I believe in developing the strengths natural to each individual, in tackling life problems from multiple angles, and in using creativity for healing. I have firsthand experience with many of the above issues, including postpartum depression and anxiety, parenting, and religious struggles. My experience provides me with empathy and insight into the difficulties faced by many individuals, couples, and new parents.

How can art therapy help you? Art therapy combines artmaking with traditional talk therapy and has been proven effective for a range of diagnoses. Artmaking can be meditative, cathartic, and healing, and it helps to foster insight and verbal discussion. No art skills or previous art experience is needed.

I serve children, adolescents, adults, and couples as an Art Therapist and Marriage and Family Therapy Registered Intern. I am under the supervision of Tracy Bevington (LMFT #53455). I offer some weekend and evening hours.

Anna Major

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist #98441

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT 98441) and one of the first European trained practitioners of Prenatal Bonding in the United States. As a native of Hungary, I am fluent in Hungarian and English, understand a fair amount of German and am studying Spanish. In Budapest, Hungary, I had the pleasure of training with the creators of the prenatal bonding method, doctors Raffai Jeno and Hidas Gyorgy and have seen the evidence, first hand, of how much brighter and healthy children can be if given the best possible start.

In both private practice and community mental health settings, I also have over 5 years’ experience working with issues ranging from ADHD, PTSD, depression, anxiety and have helped children and families cope with domestic and sexual abuse as well as parenting difficulties. I work collaboratively with my clients and use an eclectic treatment approach which includes mindfulness based techniques, humanistic-existential methods, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment theories and family systems models.

My clients gain insights into their difficulties and create positive patterns of behavior by working with me. They have healed from past traumas, repaired broken relationships and achieved a great variety of therapeutic goals. The greatest athletes have coaches that help them to overcome challenges that are holding them back from greatness and therapy works similarly. I believe that therapy is a journey; I did not construct your road but can help to realign you towards your destination.

I will accompany you on your journey to provide you with the support and resources you already know that you need help with, or I may assist you in discovering and overcoming unidentified challenges. Results are important, but success is as much about the journey as the destination, and I am committed to accompany my clients for as long as they need me to, with dedication and unconditional positive regard.

CADC-I: Alcohol and Drug Counseling Certification

I obtained my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University. I also have a Master’s Degree in Spiritual Psychology and a Certification in Alcohol and Drug Counseling. Prior to joining Pacific MFT Network, I worked as a Primary Therapist, Trauma Therapist and Group Facilitator at several different residential and intensive outpatient treatment centers for mental health and addiction issues. These treatment facilities include: Avalon Malibu, Recovery Integrity, and Rebos. Additionally, I have had two previous careers. My first career was as a Casting Director of Feature films and Broadway shows, and in my second career I was the owner/designer of a successful jewelry and accessories company.

As I work with my clients, I bring together a wide range of clinical skills, vast business expertise, creativity, and first-hand knowledge of struggling to overcome mental health and addiction issues. I believe that treatment and recovery is a creative process and different things work for different people. My goal as a therapist is to meet my clients where they are. This means that I have no expectations of what the therapeutic process is going to look like when a client first walks into my office. In the initial stages of our work together, based on the issues that you are struggling with, we will work together to determine your treatment goals. With your input, I will then determine which combination of treatment modalities I think will work best for you. I am trained in the trauma resolution technique EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) and I am also skilled in Psychodynamic, Gestalt, DBT, CBT, Narrative, Attachment and Family Systems treatment modalities.

I enjoy working with adolescents, young adults, mature adults, couples and families. I have had great success working with people with severe trauma, personality disorders, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, chronic addiction, and issues unique to LGBTQ clients.

We all have the inner resources that we need to heal, and there is great hope for all of us to grow, change and prosper.  I am passionate and committed to working by your side to help you fulfill your goals, and guide you along your own unique road to recovery.
