Associate Marriage & Family Therapist #114965
Supervised by Andrea Najemy, LMFT #90985
I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with a specialization in Art Therapy. I mostly draw from a Narrative approach to therapy, which means I work collaboratively with clients to support identification of personal values, strength and knowledge to live those values, and to re-author “stories” they have developed about themselves. In sessions I am warm, casual, and conversational. Clients have said that they feel safe in the room with me and open to talking about anything without judgment. I take notes during sessions to help guide identification of patterns and stories, which has led many clients to comment that they feel truly cared about and understood by me. I work mostly with adolescents and adults individually, as well as with families and couples.
Additionally, I utilize Art Therapy to create even more connection and as an alternative mode for self-expression. Art does not have to be your “first language” to benefit from this type of therapy. Clients have told me that while they may have been hesitant at first, the art they completed in session brought out another side of them and they gained a new perspective that they did not believe they would have achieved from talk therapy alone. While I offer the use of Art Therapy to all clients, willingness to participate in art is not a requirement to work with me.
If you hate dealing with insurance, we take the work off you by filing all OUT OF NETWORK claims for you. I am in the Sherman Oaks office Mondays and Thursdays, and the Santa Monica office on Sundays. I offer free 15 min phone consultations. I look forward to speaking with you!
