Meet Our New Therapist, Stephanie Heim!


Please help us welcome Stephanie Heim to the Pacific Marriage & Family Therapy Network staff of clinicians! Stephanie is a licensed clinician who particularly enjoys working with adolescents/teens and young adults. Stephanie specializes in childhood trauma, parenting, and families. Stephanie will be working in our Manhattan Beach and Santa Monica locations.

Stephanie graduated with her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University. She is trained in several modalities:

  • Gottman Method- Level 1 Trained

  • Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) Certified

  • Individual Cognitive Behavior Therapy (ICBT) Trained

Gottman Method Level 1 is the basic level of working with couples providing knowledge of assessing couples and utilizing interventions in order to manage conflict.

Child Parent Psychotherapy is a therapeutic approach which specifically works on trauma in children under the age of 5. Stephanie works with the child’s parent to create a trauma narrative to present to the child in order to help the client link their behaviors with their trauma experiences.

Individual Cognitive Behavior Therapy uses a CBT approach in identifying automatic thoughts and underlying emotions. This approach is best used for ages 16+ struggling with anxiety and depression.
