Art-making connects the eye and the heart, and can add meaning to our every day lives.

Sometimes images can speak louder than words. If you're looking for treatment and you identify as a visual person, Art Therapy can help you uncover deep-seated feelings and thoughts that you can't express verbally, and can also help you understand yourself in a more holistic way, so that you can become your most authentic, best self.

I enjoy using art-making in sessions with all clients —kids, teens, and adults-- who are struggling with a wide range of emotional and life challenges. Art works particularly well in processing trauma and adverse life experiences in areas of the brain that are resistant to verbal expression. The extraordinary beauty of this modality is that once the trauma is discovered and explored, it can be released so that healing can begin.

My clients are often surprised and emotional at the insights they uncover about themselves through the creative act of visual expression. Those insights then plant the seeds for personal growth and long lasting change in their lives and relationships.

Hi, I’m Sarah, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Art Psychotherapist. If you’re here, you’re likely struggling or confused, or perhaps going through a difficult transition. Maybe you simply want to understand yourself, your relationships, or your family better. Life is messy and full of challenges, and it is our response to those challenges that can determine our quality of life moving forward. The way we process our experiences can make living richer and more meaningful.

Clients tell me they appreciate my warm, casual, and compassionate style. In my sessions, I offer a safe and non-judgmental space to explore what makes you, you! I can give you tools to emerge from difficult situations in a healthy way, helping you to see those liminal spaces as an opportunity and space in which to gain agency to grow and thrive. Difficult transitions can be fertile spaces for growth, and I’m here to guide your way so that you can shine. We are in this, together.
