Stephanie Tazia Heim
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist #108176
With over 10 years of experience working with young children and their parents, I have become passionate in helping families build a healthy home environment. My past education in Child Development has helped form my foundation in how I navigate therapy with my families. I believe when working with children and teenagers a safe environment free of judgment and criticism must be created.
Often time’s therapy can be scary and feel forced for children and teens, but my goal is to create a fun space in order to promote positivity and change. My therapeutic approach uses a variety of techniques based on the needs of my clients. I have found success in helping individuals manage their stress and depression while using multiple modalities, such as: client-centered therapy, positive psychology, and solution-focused therapy.
I am a certified Child Parent Psychotherapist (CPP) and utilize this model in my approach to working with young children and their parents who have experienced trauma. Together we work on creating safety and increasing attachment. Additionally, as a trained Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT), I focus on transforming my clients’ negative thought patterns into a more positive self-focus.
