Are you looking for a native Chinese-speaking therapist? Are you hesitant to reach out for help due to language barriers and cultural differences? If so, I am here to help. I was born and raised in Asia and I provide Chinese bilingual services to accommodate my client’s language preferences.
“Stress is not the enemy in our lives. Paradoxically, it is the key to growth - by Jim Loehr”. Stress is inevitable. However, if we can learn how to manage our reactions to stress, we may convert negative situations into opportunities to become better and stronger. As a therapist, I help my clients better managing their stress caused by dating, relationship, and marital challenges as well as life transitions, acculturation stress, parent-child conflict, teenage behavior problems, processing parental divorce, career change, work/academic stress, negative self-talk, social anxiety, depression, anger management and more.
Being born and raised in Asia through college gives me the perspective to connect with my clients that have similar experiences of studying abroad, moving to a new country, learning a new language, or adapting to a new lifestyle; I was struggling with my identify, body image, hard time communicating with my parents during my teenage years; I have experience changing my career in my late 30s, while working through a lot of fears and anxiety. My previous business background also enhanced my problem-solving, strategy-building, and career-planning skills. I am also in training to become a certificated trauma-informed yoga instructor. I will be able to help my clients to build inner strength and peace through medication, yoga, and grounding techniques. My various personal experiences and clinical training deepen my understanding of your stress and challenges in life. My client often reported feeling understood, validated, and supported because of my cultural competency, personal experiences and compassion.
In my work, my clients experience therapy as a form of self-care and self-love. My approach toward therapy emphasizes self-exploration, self-compassion, and self-love. I focus on helping my clients to build skills, resilience, and strength to achieve their desired goals and become a better version of themselves. My clients enjoy working through their problems by engaging in meaningful conversations, exploring emotions through art, and learning skills in sessions. I strive to provide a space that is fun, compassionate, non-judgmental, trusting, and most importantly, safe.
I provide individual therapy for teens and adults. I also provide parenting coaching and family sessions. If you are interested in speaking with me, I offer free 15-minute phone/video consultations to assess if working together would be a good fit. I'm currently seeing clients virtually on weekdays and some weekends. Our office is Out-of-Network with insurance, but we will file claims for your reimbursement so you don't have to! Please feel free to reach out via email, and I'll get back to you shortly!
