Hereās something Iāve been learning (and re-learning) as a supervisor: being flexible is way more powerful than being rigid.
When Iām supervising pre-licensed Associates, my job isnāt to make a āmini me.ā Itās to support them in finding theirĀ voice, theirĀ style, theirĀ best way of practicing. That means trusting their integrity and giving them space to grow.
Rigidity feels safeāit lets you cling to being āright.ā But honestly, being right at all costs can do more harm than good. Flexibility means accepting that mistakes will happen (theyāre part of learning!) and that growth comes from trying, failing, and trying again.
And flexibility doesnāt mean giving in or losing authority. It means leading with openness instead of control. Itās not weaknessāitās how people actually learn, connect, and build confidence.
So yeahāflexibility > rigidity. Every time. šæ
