Hereâs something Iâve been learning (and re-learning) as a supervisor: being flexible is way more powerful than being rigid.
When Iâm supervising pre-licensed Associates, my job isnât to make a âmini me.â Itâs to support them in finding their voice, their style, their best way of practicing. That means trusting their integrity and giving them space to grow.
Rigidity feels safeâit lets you cling to being âright.â But honestly, being right at all costs can do more harm than good. Flexibility means accepting that mistakes will happen (theyâre part of learning!) and that growth comes from trying, failing, and trying again.
And flexibility doesnât mean giving in or losing authority. It means leading with openness instead of control. Itâs not weaknessâitâs how people actually learn, connect, and build confidence.
So yeahâflexibility > rigidity. Every time. đż
