🦁 Flexibility is Greater than Rigidity: Lessons From Supervising

Here’s something I’ve been learning (and re-learning) as a supervisor: being flexible is way more powerful than being rigid.
When I’m supervising pre-licensed Associates, my job isn’t to make a “mini me.” It’s to support them in finding their voice, their style, their best way of practicing. That means trusting their integrity and giving them space to grow.
Rigidity feels safe—it lets you cling to being “right.” But honestly, being right at all costs can do more harm than good. Flexibility means accepting that mistakes will happen (they’re part of learning!) and that growth comes from trying, failing, and trying again.
And flexibility doesn’t mean giving in or losing authority. It means leading with openness instead of control. It’s not weakness—it’s how people actually learn, connect, and build confidence.
So yeah—flexibility > rigidity. Every time. 🌿
