Mental Health Awareness Month - Cibele Sousa, LMFT

We hear about various concepts such as self-care, stress, resilience, normal, as if they all apply to us in the same way. In reality, there is not a one stop shop. We're unique beings. We have our needs, wants and different perceptions of the same things. How do you know in your body and mind that you are using the right tool for your specific need?

How is your body communicating what you want to say?

It is fascinating how much you can change by experiencing and exploring different languages spoken by the body and the mind.

My eclectic and collaborative approach is one that envisions empowering, strengthening, and encouraging clients to find their own path of self-contentment and personal growth. With kindness, compassion, and mindfulness, I have the ability to create a safe and nurturing environment where clients feel heard and change is possible.

I am experienced in working with families, couples, individuals, children, and teens, that are undergoing a life crisis, experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, or substance abuse. I have an eclectic style that combines psychoanalytic, psychodynamic, CBT, solution focused, family systems, mindfulness based stress reduction, Reichian, Inner Alignment, and non-violent communication approaches. I am trained in TRE, Resiliency Tool Kit, and Neuro-affective Touch. I am bilingual, and can do therapy in both English and Portuguese.
