Welcome To The Team: Dhanya Murali, APCC
Life can be tricky, but also a beautiful journey of learning, growing, and experiencing change. You may wish you could cope with conflict better, have a hard time resisting temptation, or frequently feel overwhelmed. I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can be your true self. Through learning and practicing the art of self-compassion, we will work together to help navigate the challenges you are facing. As your emotional tour guide, I will bring your awareness to perspectives you may be missing and provide tools that will be forever useful. Clients say that I am easy to talk to and make my sessions fun without sacrificing the hard work that can change your life.
I work with children (6+), teens, adults, and aging adults. I use evidence-based techniques and modalities such as CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused, play/art, mindfulness, and existential therapies. South Asian populations, trauma, cultural/racial concerns, interracial conflict, & cross-generational cultural conflict are areas in which I have both experience and great passion. Being brought up in the US and India, I am lucky to have had my own multicultural experience and value the importance of working within a culturally humble approach.
I am currently offering teletherapy only, however will return to meeting in person at the Santa Monica office in the future. I am happy to provide a free 15 minute phone consultation to determine if we are a good fit. I appreciate the opportunity to work with you and am looking forward to the journey we will take together!
